Big Ideas
Sometimes it's the smallest seeds which grow into the tallest trees.
BrokenFork Manifesto 2.0

A Bold, New Idea
Over the last few years, we've received wonderful feedback from people who sincerely appreciate the work we do. Many will even inquire whether we can perform contracting services. However, BrokenFork Design is not a contracting company, so here we intend to clarify our purpose. Our mission, you will discover, is considerably larger.
Transforming Spaces, Renewing Communities
The business strategy at BrokenFork is to invest in neighborboods and turn inadequate properties into vibrant, exciting spaces to live, work and play. We believe in joining the forces of free enterprise and community to manifest positive change. Renovation, job creation, fostering arts and community action are some of the methods we use to make an impact.
Renovating a property is only one small step of our plan, but an important one nonetheless. A BrokenFork project can be a busy, noisy and exciting place when contractors are hard at work implementing a vision. Artists and craftsmen from the greater community invest their time and creative energy producing amazing results of which the community can be proud.
Our area of expertise is transforming the way people view homes and buildings in their neighborhoods. Blighted, boarded-up and dilapidated properties may appear unsightly, but with the right plan could be turned into usable and enjoyable locations for families or businesses. This, in turn, serves as a necessary catalyst for change in a neighborhood. Each project we contribute to the commmunity only compounds the effect more and more.
The Real Asset
It is the people in neighborhoods, not properties, which will always remain our most important asset. An address is only worth what people think it is worth--collectively. Bricks and mortar by themselves really have no inherent value, regardless of scale. That's why we work incredibly hard to attract and retain people who want to be an active part of a community. We do this by creating spaces which people love to occupy and remain affordable.
Communities can only thrive and grow so long as there are people willing to live and participate in them. Investing in a property where community is weak yields a low return, both financially and socially. But, investing in the community as a whole will reap much larger rewards for everyone involved. This approach is not only superior, but completely sustainable in the long-term.
The Bottom Line
Profit, to us, isn't just a figure on a financial statement. Profit is seeing money injected
back into neighborhoods. Profit is seeing happy faces and people walking down the safe streets of their
neighborhoods for business and pleasure. Profit, in essence, is seeing a community grow and thrive.
It is our desire that each project brings this closer to reality. That is why we've updated our branding.
